This is a very ancient Egyptian game that was a favorite of the Pharaohs, including Tutankhamun. You may have seen it played in the film "The Ten Commandments." The name comes from the use of long pegs with the heads of dogs and jackals to play the game, although today this edition uses cribbage pegs which are more economical and easily replaced. Hounds & Jackals is a race game. Since the actual rules played thousands of years ago are unknown, game historians have devised several sets of rules that can be played on the board. So Hounds & Jackals is actually several games in one, and players can choose the rules they like best. Made in the USA for 2 players age 6+.
