Like our PRO, model The quick trench STD shovel allows you to bury wiring , irrigation lines or water lines at nearly a foot a minute using only hand tools. At 8 inches wide it is more the size of a regular shovel and is better suited for smaller users. Reminder: if you want to dig the trench deeper, it is easy to rock the green digger side to side to dig deeper or pull/push front to back to widen the trench. You can get an 8 to 18 inch deep trench that is just barely wider than the conduit or water line. Instead of removing dirt from a trench, it simply moves it to the side. The specially designed blade is designed to snap roots rather than cut them so, if you hit a cable or something, you can tell the difference. The yellow Quick Burial Irrigation tool is designed to be used with any of our QuickTrench diggers. It is our most popular insertion tool. Because of the smile tip, it is designed to force wire, conduit, water lines or irrigation lines past any roots, to the bottom of the special trench formed by one of the Quick Trench shovels, without damaging them. You can even jump on the blade to force wire down without fear of damage. Afterward, the yellow burial tool is used to close up the trench to a nearly invisible seam. By the time the top of the blade is at ground level, the pipe top will be 8 inches deep. (standard burial depth for irrigation, coax, and low voltage wiring) On the other hand, it is capable of burying to whatever depth the trench has been dug. Because of the hourglass shape of our trench, the narrow portion of the trench is only about half the depth, so a 16in burial depth is possible.
